Human Capital Predictions for 2010

It’s that time of year – everyone is Nostradamus and there will be lists-a-plenty to go around the HR space.  Here are just a few thoughts as to what could happen in our crazy world of HR in 2010.

  • “Transparent” will become a more annoying buzz word than “Strategic

  • Flex and virtual workers will be at the top of the workforce planning agenda

  • Wellness initiatives and an interest in emerging trends in benefits (ala medical tourism) will be a priority

  • Someone will learn how to quantify the impact of using Social Media

  • Professionals with successful employment branding results will be in high demand

  • The world of talent acquisition will get back to “normal” during Q3 2010 and yes, primarily because:

  • Organizations who overburdened employees while diminishing comp, benefits and quality of work-life will face an exodus of key talent
